Here is a video clip of an amazing story from Kristyna, who suffered stress and relied on sleeping pills for many years before she encountered Lotus Loan-Thu' Nguyen.
After following Lotus's Mindfulness programme for a couple of months, she now sleeps without pills and feels calm and happy as she effectively deals with the pressures and challenges of her daily life as a student.
About the trainer:
Lotus Loan-Thu' Nguyen is a Mindfulness trainer and coach working with organizations and individuals on a one-to-one basis or in groups. As a long-term Buddhist, she is an experienced Mindfulness practitioner. She set up Deep Listening, a Brighton-based Mindfulness group and facilitates twice-monthly meetings with fellow members.
Lotus created the How To Be Happy & Not Worry™ Mindfulness-based programme drawing on the best features of Buddhist teaching combined with Western psychotherapies such as Mindfulness-Based-Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Life Coaching. Her approach contains a balance of Eastern practice adapted for the Western way of life.

Mindfulness is an ancient practice found in a wide range of Eastern philosophies including Buddhism, Taoism and Yoga. It is fast becoming recognised in Western psychology as one of the most effective ways to vastly improve people’s lives, particularly for those who suffer from stress, anxieties, low motivation, pain or even addiction. In the UK, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) has been scientifically approved by the National Institution of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
These are some of the main benefits that can come from practicing Mindfulness regularly:
- Develop a sense of calm
- Manage pressure more easily
- Improve your concentration and your performance at work
- Improve your tolerance in difficult situations
- Find a closer connection with other people
- Feel more alive on a day-to-day basis
